Snapper, Grouper, Stripers and Sea Bass are all locked into the crosshairs of the new Shallow Water Butterfly system. Given the effectiveness of the original Butterfly system, and the encore of the flat-side jigs, it was only a matter of time before we had to focus on a different piece of water.
Spot fishing with the Butterfly is where the system really shines. The Plotter is your road map to 150' depths of stones, wrecks and underwater dungeons where these bad attitudes hang out.
With the original system and its super high speed approach, you had to have a lot of water under the boat to give it the time to work and show it's fluttering magic. This is not the case with the Shallow Water Butterfly system. 50', 75', 15 seconds to the bottom, 3 cranks, 5 cranks and moving on to the next stone... this is how we effectively fish Shallow Water Butterfly. More spots and more fish, in less time is the name of the game with Shallow Water Butterfly. Most fisherman thought the original system was light. So much so, in fact, that they remained doubtful until we supervised their first drop into the depths, then they were amazed at what they were able to conquer. With this new Shallow Water Butterfly system, the rods are lighter, the reels are smaller and yet you can still dominate some very big fish!!
Agility is the name of the game with this system. It's not for the faint of heart or for the slow to react. This is action reaction fishing in its purest state.
